BLACK IN BOZEMAN VISITS ASPEN & SNOWMASS VILLAGE ….

Updated: Dec 22, 2024

Aspen Colorado is famously known as the ski haven for celebrities.  Black in Bozeman takes it on the road to Aspen .  Aspen is a small, quaint, charming, resort town.  Don’t be fooled Aspen has big city shopping though and boasts world renowned  Michelin Star restaurants, ski slopes, and shops.  Just stroll along Galena Street.  Taking a stroll downtown which is all of 4 blocks long and you will find everything from Kemo Sabe known for their fine leather goods and of course, cowboy hats.  There is also one of my many favorites, Moncler, or perhaps Prada anyone?  You can also walk the blocks and find art galleries and local eateries like CB Burger.

What intrigued me the most about Aspen was how friendly the locals are.  You will be greeted on the sidewalk in a snow storm or while simply shopping.  There are no airs with locals.  Be mindful,  the locals like to ask a lot of questions.  Aspen is also known for attracting people from all over the world so you will hear a variety of accents or different languages spoken in town as well.

Black In Bozeman’s visit was considered during Aspen’s off season and although true Aspen activities had yet begun there were plenty of people walking with their ski gear or carrying their snowboards making the most of the snowy conditions.  Speaking of snowy conditions imagine waking up to severe weather alerts including an avalanche alert.  That was a first.

If you’re up to visiting the Aspen area please do yourself a favor and visit Snowmass Village.  Snowmass is one of 40 ski  areas.  There is also Buttermilk.  Snowmass Village sits in a valley with panoramic views of mountains.

The elevation is 8,309 ft.   At the base of Snowmass Village there are shops that cater to those that love to ski and snowboard.  At the top of Snowmass Village there are many shops to buy novelty items like t-shirts or Gorsuch shops where you can find hats, sweaters, or even snow globes.  Which brings me to food.  There are plenty of places to stop and eat but, if you are in the mood for a local hearty soup please visit the Stew Pot.  The Stew Pot is located at the top of Snowmass Village and you can find soup du jour or regular menu item soups.  If you are traveling with children there is an option for hot dogs and chips.  The Stew Pot  has 2 floors which provide for ample seating.  The staff is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious.

There are plenty of luxury accommodations in Aspen and Snowmass.  One of my recommendations would be to stay at the beautiful Aspen Meadows Resort.  Aspen Meadows is under the Salamander Collection.  This hotel/resort is unique in that it has an art gallery on the property.  The rooms are clean, spacious, and the grounds are meticulously kept.  During snowy weather staff keeps busy with plowing and or shoveling.  Aspen Meadows also has an indoor cafe in the main building on the property where you can select from the best muffins or tarts and coffee.  The cafe isn’t open all day but if you visit before 3pm you will be greeted by friendly hotel staff that are eager to help.  You can also shop in the cafe for Aspen Meadow’s coffee, hot chocolate, or fresh macaroons.  For more information please visit : Aspen Meadows Resort | Resort in West End of Aspen, Colorado.

Black In Bozeman will be bringing you a lot more travel information to include many restaurant reviews.

Here’s to Aspen, BIB gives you 5 kisses for your hospitality and good food.
